Investment advisory · GWM Investments · BTG Pactual

You have already built wealth. Now the challenge is coordinating the decisions around it.

As wealth grows, investments, liquidity, your company, credit, international diversification, protection and succession call for an increasingly integrated view.

My work is to understand your situation, organize priorities and follow your financial decisions closely and with method, backed by the structure of GWM Investments and BTG Pactual.

Initial conversation of about 20 minutes. No need to transfer investments for us to begin.

Carlos Filho, investment advisor

Good financial decisions, when made in isolation, do not always add up to a good wealth strategy.

An investment may be suitable. A loan may make sense. A private pension plan (the Brazilian previdência privada) may do its job. An international structure may be properly organized.

The point is to understand how these decisions relate to each other and to your goals.

Who is connecting the decisions around your wealth?

Your bank may be doing its job well. So may your accountant. So may your lawyer and the other professionals who work with you.

The challenge appears when financial, business, wealth and family decisions start to depend on one another.

It is in the space between decisions that an integrated view starts to make a difference.

Who is connecting the decisions
Who is connecting the decisions

For those who have already built wealth and now face more complex decisions.

Business owners

When personal wealth, your company, liquidity, credit, foreign exchange and investments start to affect the same decisions.

Executives and independent professionals

When strong income turns into wealth and decisions arise about liquidity, diversification, protection and the long term.

Families

When real estate, investments, pension plans, business holdings and the goals of different generations need to be understood within a broader view.

Your company and your personal wealth are different structures. But decisions in one affect the other.

Cash. Profit distribution. Investments. Credit. Collateral. Foreign exchange. Expansion. Partners' wealth. Succession.

The challenge is not to mix the individual with the company.

It is to understand where these decisions need to be coordinated.

How much of your wealth still depends on the same economy and the same currency?

International diversification does not necessarily start with choosing an investment abroad.

It starts with understanding the exposures your wealth already has: currencies, geographies, institutions, sources of income and future goals.

From there, we assess whether expanding international diversification makes sense in your case, always considering your profile, goals and the risks involved.

Some decisions turn out better when they start before the money arrives.

Sale of a company. Sale of real estate or another significant asset. Inheritance. Bonus or profit sharing. A significant distribution of funds. Sale of an equity stake.

A major liquidity event can significantly change the makeup of your wealth.

At those moments, the first discussion does not need to be about products.

First, it is worth understanding what this new capital needs to represent within your structure.

Plan for that moment

Personal service. Institutional structure.

You keep a close relationship with me, while your needs can draw on the structure, the specialists and the solutions available through GWM Investments and BTG Pactual.

This makes it possible to combine continuity in the relationship with the capacity of a broad financial structure.

Closeness to know the context. Structure to handle the complexity.

Four questions that a significant estate deserves to answer.

  1. Is your portfolio truly diversified, or just spread across different products and institutions?

  2. Was your liquidity defined by strategy, or did it simply build up over time?

  3. Are the financial decisions of your company and your family coordinated?

  4. If your family had to take over these decisions tomorrow, would the structure be clear to everyone?

Good decisions start with good questions.

Carlos Filho, investment advisor, in his office

Experience with complex decisions. Now applied to wealth.

My career was built in management, projects, operations, industry and foreign trade, in environments such as FedEx Express and CNH Industrial.

Throughout that experience, I took part in managing projects involving contracts above R$ 300 million, worked on highly complex operations and turned part of that knowledge into academic research in the MBA in Project Management at USP/Esalq (University of São Paulo).

It was in that context that I developed a way of working based on analysis, prioritization, execution discipline and follow-up.

Understanding the situation deeply before recommending a decision.

Today I am a business administrator, with an MBA in Project Management from USP/Esalq and an Executive MBA in International Business, working as an investment advisor integrated with GWM Investments.

How our relationship begins

  1. 01

    Initial conversation

I understand your context, your wealth, your goals and the decisions on the table.

  2. 02

    Mapping

We identify the points that deserve a deeper analysis.

  3. 03

    Strategy

We organize priorities and assess alternatives that fit your goals and profile.

  4. 04

    Implementation

You understand the possibilities and decide what makes sense to carry out.

  5. 05

    Follow-up

The strategy is revisited as your life, your company, your wealth and the market evolve.

The first conversation does not start from the premise that something needs to change.

We may conclude that your current structure is adequate.

We may identify points that deserve further analysis.

Or we may simply realize that, at this point, there is no reason to move forward.

The goal of the first conversation is to understand whether there is anything relevant worth talking about.

A few questions before we talk

Is there any cost for the initial conversation?

No. The initial conversation is meant to understand your situation and assess whether your needs fit the way I work.

Do I need to transfer my investments?

No. No transfer is needed for the initial conversation or for us to understand your current structure.

I already have an advisor. Does it still make sense to talk?

It can. A new conversation does not require ending a relationship that already works. The goal is to hear another perspective and see whether there is anything relevant worth exploring further.

How are you compensated?

I work through the structure of GWM Investments and BTG Pactual. If we move forward in evaluating a solution, the applicable compensation structure must be presented transparently before any decision.

Do you work with individuals and companies?

Yes. I work with investors and also with company-related needs, within the scope of my role and of the structure made available by the institutions I work with.

Do meetings have to be in person?

No. Meetings can take place in person in Sorocaba/SP or by video call, according to each client's needs.

Before your next important decision, a good conversation is worth having.

You do not need to change banks, transfer investments or take on any commitment for us to begin.

The first conversation is for me to understand your context and for you to get to know how I work.

If there is something relevant to explore further, we organize the next steps.

If there is not, the conversation has done its job.

About 20 minutes · In-person meeting in Sorocaba/SP or by video.
